Cody Hodgson

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Sabres forward Cody Hodgson. I had debated on getting a ticket to meet Coho but decided to after great production from him and also the fact that I realized he was a free agent this coming summer. Since the Sabres have a tendcy of letting good players go, I decided to head out and meet Cody just to play it safe since I hadn't met him yet. Great guy to meet and hope I get to meet him again because I'd love to get my Manitobia Moose AHL yearbook signed by him! I met him at the new Dave and Adam's Outlet Store which is connectected to their warehouse.

Mark Mancari

               Mancari was a great pleasure to meet, this was the only occassion I met him.

Mike Robitaille Interview

I just recently did an interview with former NHLer Mike Robitaille. Mike Robitaille spent his career with the Vancouver Canucks, Buffalo Sabres, New York Rangers and, Detroit Red Wings. Robitaille's career ended after multiple injuries in 1977. Robitalle joined the Sabres Broadcast crew in 1991 and has been a part ever since. Robitaille played in 382 regular season NHL games, scoring 23 goals and adding 105 assists. Mike still resides in the Buffalo area and is part of the Sabres Alumni Association. Mike and his wife also own Robitalle Real Estate . Though Mike's career has been long over, Mike still interacts with fans in the Buffalo area and has been a fan favorite. 1. What do you miss most about living in Canada?

    Nothing much---- I became a U.S. citizen 10 years ago

2. Who did you have the most fun playing with? Also who was your favorite line mate?

 Ab Demarco Jr. and my favorite defense partner was Tim Horton

 

3. During you career what goalie did you have a particularly hard Time scoring against?

Seemed like all of them but maybe Tony Esposito Chicago Blackhawkes

 

4. What is your Number 1 regret, what didn't you accomplish during your career?

 Took playing too serious and never had enough fun

 

5. What was the high point of your career?

 Being chosen to play in the NHL All Star game---broke my wrist a week before and couldn't play in the game ----also being chosen for the unsung hero award in the NHL

 

6. What is your greatest memory of hockey player?

 Being chosen the best defensmen in Jr A hockey ( Kitchener Rangers)

 

7. Now being a Intermission reporter, what do you miss most about the game? What has been the biggest change since your years in the NHL, compared to the NHL of today?

 Really nothing as the game didn't come easy to me. The biggest changes has been how scientific the game has become---the condition of the players---and the amount of money to be made in such as short amount of time 

 

8. When you were younger what NHL star did you look up to?

They were all heroes to me as I was growing up.

 

9. If you could meet any hockey player past or present, who would it be?

Eddie Shore

 

10. What former teammate/player are you closest to still today?

Larry Carriere my former defense partner with the Sabres

 

11. What do you like most about being an analyst for the Sabres?

Speaking and explaining the game in simple terms ----- also working for terrific owners who make decisions with morals over money

 

12. Growing up, what was your favorite team?

Detroit

 

13. Do you miss playing hockey? 

Not at all---toughest job I've ever had by far

 

14. Do you like being part of the Sabres Alumni? 

Proud of the Alumni and so many players that have made a difference in our community.

Maxim Lapierre

Well, the trip to Dave and Adams got even better. Before I had arrived someone opened a box of 2011/12 Hockey Pinnacle and pulled a jersey card of Maxim Lapierre. However, they didn't want the card so they told the worker to put it in the free box. Now this is a very rare occassion, having a jersey card in the free box. However, the worker, knowing I collect jersey cards, set it a side for me! It's numbered 477/499! Another great free card! It appears to be a piece of his Habs jersey!

ENFORCERS TV SHOW: Rob Ray, Ruben Brown, Andrew Peters

We have met the members of Time Warner Cable's Sports Talk Show Enforcers multiple times! The Black and White pictures of Rob Ray and Andrew Peters, The picture of Peters at the Winter Classic and the very last picture of Rob Ray were all signed at a Sabres Alumni Apperance at Tully's Resturant in Amhurst NEw York. Both Rob and Andrew got a kick out of the picture thats tittled "Their Job" and each asked for a copy of the picture. The Regular Andrew Peters signed picture was signed at a signing at  Dave and Adams Card World. The Enforcers picture and Black and White Ruben Brown picture was signed at a taping of the show live at the Buffalo Auto Show!

A signed 8x10 of Sabres Defensemen Christian Ehrhoff. I was supposed to attend the signing at Dave And Adams however somthing came up So I had to just pick up the photo after the signing!

Andrew Peters

I ran into to recentally retired Enforcer Andrew Peters after the Home Closer for the Buffalo Sabres Vs. The Toronto Maple Leafs! He was very kind as usual and signed this fake foam NHL Center Ice Puck!

Mike Robitaille

I aquired this signed 8x10 of Mike Robitaille. Michael James David Robitaille (born February 12, 1948 in Midland, Ontario) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He played in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings, Buffalo Sabres and Vancouver Canucks. Currently, he works as a studio analyst on Buffalo Sabres hockey broadcasts on the MSG Network with Rob Ray and Kevin Sylvester.Robitaille played in 382 regular season NHL games, scoring 23 goals and adding 105 assists. He was most well known for his punishing hip checks. He also appeared in 13 playoff games, six with Buffalo and seven for Vancouver, tallying one assist. His career ended pre-maturely in 1977 when he was blind-sided by Dennis Owchar of the Pittsburgh Penguins, which caused nerve damage in his neck. He would later win a lawsuit against the Canucks for mistreating his injuries.Robitaille was one of the founders of Hockey Hotline, the Buffalo Sabres' postgame show on Empire Sports Network, in 1991 and has worked for the Sabres and various sister outlets ever since. He is known for his colorful analogies and exaggerations.In recent years, Robitaille has been the fill-in commentator whenever Rick Jeanneret, Jim Lorentz, or Harry Neale cannot fulfill their duties on a game day broadcast.In February 2010, Robitaille was injured in a car accident suffering a spinal cord injury with neurological damage. Robitaille’s injuries from the accident resulted in him missing broadcast duties for the remainder of the 2009-2010 NHL season. Through months of rehabilitation since, doctors and Robitaille say that he is not at 100% yet as of September 2010. However he feels ready and will return to his broadcast duties in time for the start of the 2010-11 NHL season with the Sabres.
